What are motion graphics?
Technically, any moving or animated graphics are considered motion graphics. Creating motion graphics can include a range of technologies, from a hand-drawn flipbook to a full 3-D environment. In the 21st century, the term motion graphics generally refers to one or more visual and audio media combined for presentation. For example, one may combine digital video, a painting and sound to create motion graphics for your company's website.
Are motion graphics expensive?
Creating motion graphics used to require a great deal of time, money and expertise. For example, the 1989 movie The Abyss is famous for featuring one of the first realistic motion graphics sequences. To create the motion graphics, the filmmakers had to develop their own special motion graphics software and hardware. Today, motion graphics technology has advanced enough that a trained, knowledgeable person could create such a motion graphics sequence at home, at a fraction of the time and cost.
